EXW stands for INCONTERM and stands for Ex-Works which is also known as "ex-works", meaning that the seller delivers the goods at his premises or other designated place, while the buyer assumes the risks and costs related to loading, transportation and clearance of the goods. This is favorable for exporters, as it represents a minimum risk. It means minimum commitment for the seller and maximum obligation for the buyer. It is normally used by novice exporters.

It is an INCOTERM that stands for Free On Board (FOB) or free on board, it is used exclusively for maritime or river transport. It can be useful to control the freight and shipping costs of your goods. In this INCOTERM the seller delivers the goods at the port of shipment and assumes the costs of export customs clearance and export licenses. On the other hand, the buyer carries out the import formalities, arranges transportation from the port of shipment and assumes the costs during the delivery of the goods (unloading, freight, clearance, etc.).

This INCOTERM stands for Cost, Insurance and Freight. It refers to the seller delivers the goods on board the vessel and must contract and pay the costs, all customs formalities and freight to the port of destination. The buyer assumes the risk of loss or damage to the goods at the port of shipment. It is worth mentioning that the insurance is contracted by the seller, but it entitles the buyer.

This INCOTERMS stands for Delivered at terminal, where the seller assumes all costs, including the main transport and insurance (which is not compulsory) until the goods arrive at the agreed terminal, assuming all risks until that moment.
