Volumetric Weight

Have you ever wondered why parcel companies apply volumetric weight to your shipments?

The volumetric weight of a shipment is a measure that takes into account the size of the packages (length, width and height) and expresses the density of the goods, it is used to compare the volume with the actual weight of a shipment.

Parcel companies or last mile delivery companies that use this concept will charge you for your shipment whichever weight is greater: actual or volumetric.
